Athletic Trainer

The mission of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association is to enhance the quality of health care provided by certified athletic trainers and to advance the athletic training profession. Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) are medical professionals who collaborate with physicians in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

Policies and Procedures for the Interscholastic Athlete

All S.H.S. Athletes should maintain a copy of the policies and procedures for the interscholastic athlete brochure. Athletic Insurance The school district provides athletic insurance for students participating in high school sports. There are guidelines regarding who is covered, medical payments, and how to file a claim. All students participating in high school sports must have an active sports physical and a parent/student-athlete concussion statement on file. Physicals must be dated after April 1st of the preceding school year. Forms are available by clicking the Forms and Schedules tab on the Athletic drop down box or by visiting the athletic office.

    3 Ten gallon coolers of water
    1 chest cooler of injury ice with bags
    3 cases of post-game sodas
    2 tables on field
    2 taping tables in locker room
    Our orthopedic and family physician will be present and available to assist as needed.
